Solutions to the discrimination of the Ugandan LGBT community can be seen through the steps other countries have taken.

A solution to improve LGBT acceptance is through literature and film, which are already making strides in Uganda. Kasha Nabagesera, a Ugandan LGBT rights activist for over 16 years, has started a magazine to promote Ugandan LGBT rights. Bombastic Magazine even being supported internationally by organizations such as Amnesty International. This magazine is spreading knowledge on the LGBT community, and shifting people’s attitudes on homosexuality in Uganda.

Similar to the Somali support groups and messaging sites seen under Acceptance, there are others sites internationally available for Africans, who struggle with acceptance.  They visit these sites freely, giving them a place of acceptance they did not have. While Uganda has struggled with allowing support groups to function in a digital space, international influence can benefit a large group of people who feel unaccepted or in danger for who they are.
